Jam of the Week: Ne-Yo - "Queen"

In honor of the Nat Turner story The Birth of a Nation releasing this week nationwide in theaters we decided to go with one of many popular tracks on the album R&B's very own Ne-Yo love ballad "Queen".

The whole soundtrack to the upcoming film is strong, powerful, and prideful in what we African Americans believed in back than that are taken place in the film and still have those values today.

In this track Ne-Yo veered away from a more violent standpoint to appreciating his special lady and making sure she knows it as he starts off singing the "Circumstance and situation / Don't dull your shine / I can see the beauty in you / If I were blind."

You can listen to the rest of this soundtrack and get a feel of the storyline of Nate Parker's high anticipated film The Birth of a Nation out now. But before you head over there let Ne-Yo take you away with his love ballad "Queen" below:
