Flashback Friday: Musiq Soulchild - "B.U.D.D.Y."

When Musiq Soulchild dropped this single "B.U.D.D.Y." at the top of 2007 off of his fourth album LuvanMusiq, it was a summer anthem and a way for fellas to kick it to their woman they were trying to get to know.

This R&B hit sampled De La Soul's "Buddy (Native Tongues Decision Remix) and Taana Gardner's "Heartbeat" to bring that old school vibe on how to talk to a female back. This single was also nominated for a Grammy award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance in 2008.

Musiq has recently released a new album titled Life on Earth couple months ago under his new record label My Block Records which is ran by Warryn Campbell. This album features hit single "I Do" which is burning up the R&B charts and "Heart Away".
