Meet Duo URBANO In Recent Interview !

These days its not as common as it us to be having siblings team up in a group or duo, but upcoming brother-sister dup URBANO are bringing it back.

We've had the pleasure here at R&B Supreme to sit down and get to know these two along with their upcoming plans and projects. Join us in this introduction to URBANO:

1. Tell us about yourself and your music?

We are an urban pop duo from the suburbs of Philadelphia. We realized our love for music at a young age and started to pursue solo music careers. John ( ½ of URBANO) started recording his raps in a studio at the age of 16. He began working with producer and engineer, Will Yip. Following in his footsteps, Ris (the other ½ of URBANO) started her singing career, also recording her songs with Will. With every step in the learning process, we started networking with many different producers, engineers, and other artists. We then realized how much we really loved working together and wanted to create something really unique. We then decided to give URBANO a shot as a band. We just finished our debut album with eleven eclectic tracks. You can check it out on our soundcloud page (soundcloud.com/urbanomusic) or on our website (urbanomusicgroup.com)!

2. How would you describe your sound?

Our sound is a fusion of pop, hip-hop, EDM and urban flair. We try to always compliment each other’s individual style and make something truly distinctive of what we represent as a band.

3. Talk about the experience making your single?

When we heard Cam Taylor’s production, we instantly wanted to work on creating something to the infectious rhythm. We felt a magnetic connection to the overall production as we listened to the instrumental over and over again. When we sat down together, we instantly caught the uplifting vibe and wanted to match that with our melodies, harmonies and lyrics. We jammed out for a while and the hook just kind of came out spontaneously. We loved the way it made us feel and John worked on the verses for a week or two. We went in the studio and it was one of those songs that came easy to us. Our producer, Joe Logic, definitely enhanced and helped us put the whole vision together. We are so happy with the end result of our single and hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do!

4. What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?

Well we just finished our album – “Royal Family” – which took us almost three years to complete. But we just shot the video for our single “Happy Hour” and plan to release that project within the next month or so! We also are working with producer and engineer, Lectriq on a full collaboration. This is something we will be working on for the next few months, so definitely look out for that!

5.  What has been your biggest highlight in your guys music career this far?

Our biggest highlights are just being able to work with such talented and professional artists, producers and engineers. It has been such an amazing experience being able to create something we love with people who are so talented. We also are very thankful for all of the blogs, websites and magazines, who have emphasized our music and believe in our artistry.

6. Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?

This is a difficult question! We have SO MANY artists and producers we want to collaborate with! We love both mainstream and independent artists equally, but two people at the top of our list are Lil’ Wayne and David Guetta! They make music we absolutely love and we would be honored to recreate that feeling we have felt so many times listening to their music. Some other artists would be Chris Webby, Tech N9ne, Snow Tha Product, Sammy Adams, and Childish Gambino just to name a few.

7. Name something random that people do not know about you guys?

Something random about John would be that he has done several eating challenges and won! You could call him an amateur food competitor. Something random about Ris would be that she cheered all four years of college.

8.  What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

We have learned that becoming more professional in your craft takes a lot of persistence, dedication and faith. It can be tough to get your name spread in the indie music scene with so many talented artists. Especially when you are wearing so many hats and doing everything on your own. But if this is truly your dream, it is all worth it in the end. We have also found that social media is your friend! It makes everything easier in regards to spreading your music and hearing feedback about your work. Social media creates a global village for the music community to gather and share musical interests.

9. What can we expect from you guys in the future?

You can expect us to keep making music and continuously working on perfecting our craft. We will definitely be creating more albums, music videos and collaborations.

10. Anything else you would like to share with our readers?

We would just like to voice how genuinely thankful we are to everyone who has contacted us and expressed how much they love our music. We are so happy our intention of spreading good vibes has reached so many people. We love the support and cannot wait to put out more music.

Make sure and be on the lookout for their visuals for lead single "Happy Hour" coming soon, but for now press play on URBANO's latest album Royal Family below:
