Today we're getting more info for the fans about what Thornton's been up to recently:
Tell us about yourself and your music?
"I have been performing professionally for ten years. I started out singing in a glee club in elementary school, and while on sI had an ephiphany that being on stage is where I belonged and that singing is was what I wanted to do with my life. So, my music is an expression of my own personal journey and evolution. I'm hoping that I can inspire and uplift the listening audience to believe that no matter what challenges you face, that may seem insurmountable, that there's an innate power within you that will help you overcome anything!"
How would you describe your sound?
"My single 'I Remember' has more of an urban pop groove, with an electrifying base line, pulsating beat and powerhouse chorus vocal line that drives hard, the soulful message of a heart that's been broken."
Talk about the experience making your single?
"Well to be perfectly candid, 'I Remember' is based on my previous 7 year relations and how it ended via text. I was devasted and embarrassed by the indignity of receiving the news by text message. I felt completely gutted, but my inner voice whispered "Carl, keep it moving." So I did. And I haven't looked back! I’m the kind of person who is very spiritual and very optimistic, and I tend to take negative things and tun it into a positive. Through that particular event in my life, came the creation of this song."
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
"I start rehearsals late October for my upcoming shows. I am also going into the studio to work on a new track for DJ Bruno from France."
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
"I'd have to say my tour of China. Performing there was such a fascinating and amazing experience. Such incredible love and appreciation from the audiences there."
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?
"My ideal collaboration would be to get to work with Calvin Harris, it is a dream and a wish of mine!"
Name something random that people do not know about you?
"I love to binge watching television series."
What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?
"The music industry can be very tough. At times it's like going through a minefield with all the scam artists that prey on the naive, by making promises that they fail to deliver on. I just keep moving forward with a persistent determined drive."
What can we expect from you in the future?
"More music and videos that are inspiring, joyous and uplifting."
Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
"Yes, one of my favorite quotes: "If you don't have a sit at the table, bring your own chair." Remember to live, laugh and love. Words that I try to live by daily."
